It’s Friday, December 28?!  You’re kidding!  No?  Oh, I just love those fibromyalgia flares that result in missing the holidays.
To think, I started out feeling pretty good, too.  It makes it all the more frustrating!  Where to begin?  I guess I’ll go back to Monday – Christmas Eve Day.
Our shopping was all done weeks ago [...]

Back to the Birds

We’ve been getting snow here in Massachusetts this week – one big storm and, at least where I live, snow flurries and snow showers off and on most days.  It will definitely be a white Christmas.
I’ve been spying on the birds that come to the feeder outside my kitchen window.  They provide a lot of [...]

While I’ve been trying to “lay low” and fend off any more fibromyalgia flare-ups – not particularly successfully – Christmas has been making it’s way slowly across the nation from Massachusetts to Rapid City, SD.  The storms across the nation have not been making it easy for Christmas to travel over 2000 miles – ice, [...]

Oprah made the evening news tonight in Boston, days after she visited New Hampshire.  It was odd timing, because I’d been thinking about Oprah since she brought her “dog and pony” show to NH to stump for Obama.  I don’t care about her politics.  She’s a citizen and has a right to her opinions – [...]

The best start, really.

Tip — or else!!!

I was just reading the Reader’s Digest article “My Planet” – column, I guess – by Mary Roach.  It was entitled “Gratuitous Gratuities.”  It really hit a nerve with me.
I wish I had Mary’s sense of humor.  Mine runs closer to a sarcastic wit than hers.  She writes about everyday life – things like automatic-opening trash [...]

No, I was physically “smote by God.”  But He did remind me that His ways are not necessarily mine.
You know I’m on the Search Committee to find a new rector for our parish.  Right now we have two candidates that have expressed interest and yesterday we interviewed the first one.  We have part two of [...]

Hockey Night

Last night was hockey night for my husband and myself.  Live hockey, not the TV brand.  It really is so much better in person, because you can see the whole game on the ice, not just the player carrying the puck.
It was a bit difficult to decide where to go – several choices are sometimes [...]

It’s been several days now and I am still reeling from the phone call I received from my Lakota friends in Rapid City on Monday.  I don’t know how to help ease the pain of a second daughter being raped.  I have been trying to find sources for helping with the rent money, with some [...]
