I’m getting a head start on this one, actually writing at the end of the competition show. There’s still a little drama to be had.
Everyone did a different dance tonight. It was totally unpredictable again – some who were cruisin’ dropped in the judges’ voting. Others, who had been lagging, flourished. There is still not one or two who seem to be pulling away from the pack. It will be interesting to see what the viewer’s do tomorrow.
HOLD THE PRESSES!!
Jayne Seymour unable to attend results show due to food poisoning.
Sabrina and Mark eliminated.
I think I must be in an alternate universe somewhere. The results show was fairly entertaining, after the announcement that Jayne would not be appearing tonight after being hospitalized for food poisoning. Barry Manilow was the guest and he sang three songs. The group performed the ensemble dance they did the night before, with Tony (minus Jayne) improvising a solo role. When they announced that Marie and Jonathan were safe, then Tony and Jayne, I realized that left two really good dancers in the “bottom two.”
Sabrina (& Mark) and Cameron (& Edyta) were in the bottom two. Neither deserved it. What is America thinking? Voting for Jayne and Marie because they’re older women? Or maybe because they can act well or sing well? They certainly don’t dance as well as either Sabrina or Cameron!
Eventually it was announced that Sabrina & Mark would not return. The audience showed it’s displeasure by booing very loudly. I haven’t seen that before. I did have one “evil thought” as I watched Sabrina try to maintain her composure. I’ve had food poisoning before. It really takes all your energy right away. You feel like a limp dishrag for a while afterwards. Perhaps Jayne will not be able to continue to compete or perhaps her doctors will advise against it. If she were to withdraw, that would open the door for Sabrina and Mark to return in a graceful way. And Jayne Seymour is nothing if not graceful! A replacement occurred when Sara Evans left the show. Maybe ….
